week 17: ads is finally working

pretty damn excited about CAC

Dear board, first of all - thanks for making the time.

Can you believe it? How many times have I mentioned my high hopes for ads, and afterwards told you how it wasn’t working according to plan, huh?

More than once.

But guess what, now it works.

I'm currently running some Meta ads for Jared.

In five days, our CAC went from $5.6 to $1.3 per user just by rapid testing of different:

  • value propositions

  • call to actions

  • key features

  • graphics

I believe that everything is about rapid experimentation.

Success rate is bullshit, but number of experiments is key.

More shitty ideas equals more great ideas.

$1.3 is promising (and as of writing this, I have an ad that has given us users at $0.59)

Maybe you can tell it already, but I’m pretty excited about this.

I’ve been trying to solve our acquisition problem for so long, finding a paid channel that could work within the range of $1-$3 per user, and now it works.

And it has done so all weekend.

I keep optimizing.

The domino

Regarding that big domino of a product update I teased about last time, we are getting closer.

I was just on a call with Frederik before writing this, telling me that he had figured it out, and now there’s only the easy part left.

It’s gonna be big.
