week 18: user growth

best week to date

Dear board, first of all - thanks for making the time.

This has been an exciting week.

As mentioned last week, we’ve finally found a way to acquire users at a sustainable customer acquisition cost (CAC), which has led to 102 new users being added to the system this week.

There’s still a lot we can do to reduce friction and make it even easier for people to sign up, which will make our CAC even lower - looking forward to experimenting with that.

The update that I’ve been teasing about for some time has been delayed, but only for a few days. We ran into some issues that needed to be solved before we could finalize it.

One thing I’ve learned is that you can’t plan coding, especially not when you are developing something new. But I’m pretty confident that it’ll be shipped in the coming week.

Which means that you’ll no longer have to deal with paywalls or bad articles.

The theme for the next phase of Jared is user growth.

We have a great service, we’ve discovered a sustainable growth channel, and our users are staying with us.

We’re ready to fuel the engine. Exciting times ahead.

Frederik is also done with school within the next couple of weeks, which means that he’ll be developing full-time.

I’m sure this will 4-5x our shipping speed, at least.

And we have gotten an office, I know it’s not a big deal for the user, but it’s a big deal for us. One thing is the productivity that it’ll bring, but everything just feels more real when you have an office.

I’ve never had that before.

We’ll move in on the first of July.

(and it’s very cheap. like 250$ a month)
