week 26: business model

small pivot

Dear board, first of all - thanks for making the time 👋

This has been good week, ending on a good note.

I think we found something.

In the last couple of weeks I’ve been pitching Jared a lot. To advisors, investors, customers, friends, etc.

All of these pitches has brought us some valuable insights.

Most importantly; we have to validate a sustainable business model.

And, we have to decide on what Jared is, and wanna be in the future.

We went from being a newsletter → online news portal → news media.

But we don’t just wanna be a media business.

The vision for Jared is to build your personal business assistant, which means we want to build empowering dashboards, not media feeds.

We’ll develop a dashboard for investors and business professionals, that can save them time and help make the right decisions.

And that’s our new goal; turning Jared into a dashboard, that we can charge a premium for.

In 45 days (no vacations this summer).

Up until now, we’ve been trying to build the best engine for fetching, curating and extracting information from the news.

This next step is just continuing, to build on that foundation with even more valuable insights being made easily available.

I’m hyped for this next stage.
